Foo Fighters Confirm New Drummer On Album

Foo Fighters have just confirmed that Taylor Hawkins will not be on their new, upcoming, album. It also seems that Dave Grohl will be doing the grunt work for the drumming on the album.

Via songwriting credits Desperate Times has uncovered, we’ve found out that Taylor Hawkins is not listed as one of the artists on the new album But Here We Are, which would mean that these are all new songs and were not with Taylor’s drumming. This has saddened many fans and a lot of them don’t really know how to feel about it.

That said, it looks like Dave Grohl will be the drummer on the new album, which should lay any rumors to rest with who will be the new drummer, at least within the walls of the studio and its recordings.

Dave Grohl’s drumming should bring this album to life, which could breathe new life into the Foo Fighters when they really do need it most.

Now, there is no word on how long the Foo want to be around for after this album drops. If you ask me, I really feel that they will get this album out and then drop an album after, maybe as a deluxe, that will have tracks that had Taylor Hawkins on them.

After that, it’s hard to say what the band plans on doing. I do expect a legacy tour, which will have multiple drummers for the tour, but after the tour is over, I think the Foo may take either a lengthy break or they will call it a day.

There have been many great rock bands that have been able to move on successfully without their main drummer involved for the entire ride, and yes, the Foo did start without Taylor Hawkins, but something feels very different here. I just don’t think they’ll go for many more years down the line, even though I do hope they continue.
