Dave Grohl Suffered Second Tragedy After Hawkins

Dave Grohl has been through many hardships, like all of us have. What stands out with Dave’s tough times is that all have been publicized and out in the open. With the passing of Kurt Cobain, Taylor Hawkins, and his mother, Virginia Hanlon Grohl, Dave surely has seen very difficult days.

The current project via the Foo wants to shed light on the tough times and how to endure them. With having Taylor no longer with the band, the process was a much more somber one.

Virginia passed away on August 6, 2021, at the age of 84. Virginia was a respected educator and author, and she was also known for being the mother of Dave Grohl, the frontman of the Foo Fighters and former drummer of Nirvana.

Dave Grohl has spoken publicly about the close relationship he had with his mother and the impact she had on his life and career. In her book “From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars,” Virginia wrote about raising Dave and his siblings and the experiences she had as a mother of a successful musician.

Following his mother’s passing, Dave Grohl had kept a low profile, but may now be vocal.

In homage to his mother, the Foo will seemingly be releasing a song dedicated to her which is currently called, ‘The Teacher’ as written about on Reddit. Taking a look through the tracks, I do see a possible theme here with people who have passed that were close to or around Dave and the Foo Fighters. With ‘The Teacher’ possibly being about Dave’s mom; I see another song called ‘Show Me How,’ which could be about Chris Cornell via his Audioslave hit ‘Show Me How To Live’.

This is a stretch, but could make for a very intricate and somber concept record.
