Kurt Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love Cobain recently took to her Twitter account and posted some Tweets which also mentioned late rapper, Tupac Shakur, and his mysterious 1996 death in Las Vegas, which has never truly been solved after he was tragically shot by a man. Courtney also recently discussed Michael Jackson’s will.
One of her Tweet read:
“For a year I’ve thought how to make this thread coherent to intellectual Britney, Tupac, Alefi, Jackson and Cobain activists. I’ve done my best. This is almost all things u haven’t seen ever or put together. Am exhausted now. Happy to be in a wonderful country with LAWS. x C”
Another read:
“#justiceforalefi ( shakur ) is the one that really keeps me up @ night…It’s the vilest of them all. I escaped. Ok now. But her story needs telling. 💖”
Rapper and actor Tupac Shakur was often vocal about many facets of his short life. One person seemingly always in his corner was the late artist’s mother, Afeni Shakur. Before he was shot to death at age 25 in 1996, Tupac released “Dear Mama,” which is one of his most powerful and memorable songs. Tupac wrote the song himself, and the track held a special place in his and Afeni’s hearts. “Dear Mama” debuted on Feb. 21, 1995. The song was the lead title on Tupac’s third studio album, “Me Against the World,” and gave vivid details about his upbringing with Afeni.
Tupac performed “Dear Mama” as a letter to his mother. Tupac explained in the piece that Afeni raised him and his sister, Sekiywa Shakur, as a single mother. He said Afeni, a former Black Panther, did her best with her circumstances, although she had flaws like most people.
In April 2023, FX released Dear Mama: The Saga of Afeni and Tupac Shakur, about Afeni and Tupac’s stories and relationship. Afeni died from cardiac arrest in 2016.
