Blink-182 Bassist Breaks Silence On Travis Barker Emergency

Music fans in the United Kingdom and Ireland received disappointing news recently as Blink 182 announced the postponement of their highly-anticipated tour dates in the region. The abrupt decision came in the wake of drummer Travis Barker’s return to the United States due to what the band described as an “urgent family matter.”

Travis Barker, the 47-year-old musician known for his incredible drumming skills and undeniable presence in the world of rock, shared a glimpse of his somber journey on Instagram. Just before the official announcement, Barker posted a photo from an airport Prayer Room, offering a glimpse into his state of mind as he embarked on his journey back home.

As reported by Blabber Mouth: The band issued a statement on social media, expressing the reason behind the tour postponement: “Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States.” As of now, the affected shows include performances in Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin.

The tour was set to kick off on September 1st in Glasgow, marking the beginning of a much-anticipated return for Blink 182 to the U.K. and Ireland. Fans in these regions were eagerly awaiting the opportunity to witness the band’s iconic live performances once again.

The affected shows:

Sep. 01 – Glasgow @ Ovo Hydro
Sep. 02 – Glasgow @ Ovo Hydro
Sep. 03 – Belfast @ SSE Arena
Sep. 04 – Dublin @ 3Arena

Mark Hoppus has posted about Barker, “Thanks everyone. We will let you know about the shows as soon as we do. Much love.”

As we await more information regarding Travis Barker’s return to Europe and the rescheduled tour dates, one thing remains certain: the unwavering support and enthusiasm of Blink 182 fans will continue to be a driving force for the band, transcending any obstacles in their path. Our thoughts are with Travis Barker and his family during this challenging time, and we look forward to the day when the band can once again light up stages on both sides of the Atlantic. Let’s go!
